Wave energy testing in the ‘weatherbomb’

This week’s ‘weatherbomb’ created large waves, particularly in the north and west of Scotland.  One of our Squid units was under test at Kishorn Port in Wester Ross, where the winds whipped up large seas – and the unit responded accordingly….

Squid units are coupled together to form WaveNET arrays.  Arrays can be made up of a number of units to suit the wave climate and the power requirements of the site.  The unit being tested at Kishorn Port is checking systems.  When this testing is completed 3 units will be used in a further demonstration of a WaveNET array on a fish farm site on the west coast of Scotland.
